Our Process

Pre‑Retreat Insight & PreparationThis first phase is about getting to know your group and surfacing what really matters. It could be as simple as a casual meet‑and‑greet call to understand your goals, or as deep as a facilitated psychographic assessment led by an expert. You decide how far we go—our aim is always the same: to uncover the questions and edges your group is wrestling with so we can design meaningful moments around them. On‑Land Retreat (1-2 days)Your time on the land can be anything from a straightforward, rustic immersion to a fully styled and chef‑led experience. We work with you to choose the setting, comfort level and practices that feel right: simple tents and a communal fire, or a glamping setup with thoughtful design touches, gourmet meals and guest practice leaders. The shared rituals—arrival, dispatch, cooking and reflection—anchor the arc, but the level of curation is entirely up to you.Butchery & ReflectionTwo weeks after the retreat we reconvene, but this follow‑up can take many forms. We can meet you at a community butcher shop, host in a studio space with a facilitator and professional meat cutter, or even bring the workshop to your office. Whether you’re looking for a hands‑on tutorial and in‑depth storytelling session or a simpler distribution of meat with a brief reflection, we’ll shape this stage to fit your schedule and appetite for engagement.Donation & Community ImpactThe “Second Fire” is an optional layer of impact. You can choose to keep all of the meat for your group, donate a portion to a food‑justice partner, or go further and collaborate with us on a public community meal that feeds people and organizations in need. We’ll handle the logistics and partner outreach, and you decide how you want to balance personal nourishment with collective giving.

Our Process

WE SLAUGHTER WITH CAREThe cow is slaughtered respectfully, with transparency at every step.*Virtual & in-person education opportunities are available and encouraged.PROCESSING: WE BUTCHER NOSE-TO-TAILNothing goes to waste. We divide every cut, organ, and bone with purpose and respect.*Virtual & in-person education opportunities are available and encouraged.WE DIVIDE THE SHARES FOR DIVERSITYEach share is thoughtfully packed – including rare cuts and unique parts – with labeling and cooking guidance.

Learn Together

We give you more than meat. With your cowshare, you'll receive a visual cow map, a part-by-part breakdown, and cooking inspiration so you can fully experience the privilege of eating nose-to-tail.We also provide easy-to-follow guides, videos, and content that turn this learning into a lasting resource – something you can return to and share again and again. Our ranchers, farmers, butchers, and community members become the subjects of original media. We produce this content to provide deeper context, and thus connection, to our food systems. If you join one of our virtual or in-person programs, you’ll get direct access to the ranchers, butchers, and chefs – the people who make this possible. This is your chance to ask anything, build relationships, and learn from the people who live and breathe whole-animal knowledge.

Grow the Movement

Each time we take a radical step against the current of modern convenience, we open the door for others to do the same. When you share your cowshare experience – the story, the meals, the purpose – you invite others to connect to the energy of food. With enough stories, voices, and memories, culture shifts. We restore personal agency and collective care in one of the most essential parts of our lives: how we nourish ourselves and each other.Food has a unique power to bring people together – it is the universal connector. When you participate in this community, the story becomes yours. And every time you share it, the movement grows.
